As bar coding becomes more prevalent in all areas of the health care complex, an increasing number of products require scanning. Attempts at scanning 1-D (linear) bar codes can be frustrating on small or irregularly shaped containers because the entire bar code is not visible at one time. Consequently, work-arounds are devised and necessary medication dispensing can be delayed.
Medi-Dose/EPS has addressed this issue with its new LiquiDose Square Labels. When used with its successful MILT software, the new LiquiDose Square Labels can be printed with complete medication identification and a comprehensive bar code. By turning the label 90 degrees before applying it, scanning is no longer hindered by the curvature of the container.
Three sizes of square labels are available…1.00”, 1.33” and 2.66”…for either laser or direct thermal printers. Through MILT, an appropriate bar code can be generated for the container. In addition, Graphics, Special Fonts, Tall Man Lettering, Shapes and Logos can all be included on your labels. All LiquiDose Square Labels have an FDA acceptable adhesive that can be used with blood and IV products.
